The 2016 Manhattan Townhouse Report has just been published. While the days of getting a brownstone for under $1 million are behind us, relative bargains can still be found above 96th Street. The average price of a townhouse is $8.8 million in Manhattan, while in Harlem sales have not yet passed the $5 million mark. If you are looking to live with income, or for a terrific rental property, please ask me about the updated inventory.
- The number of townhouses sold in Manhattan fell by 26% versus 2015.
- A slower pace of high-end sales caused prices to cool. The price per square foot was off 10% from 2015, but the median price was unchanged.
